LISA STEVENS NOMINATED FOR 2010 BETTY MITCHELL AWARD FOR OUTSTANDING CHOREOGRAPHY Lisa Stevens has been nominated for a 2010 Betty Mitchell award for Outstanding Choreography for her work on The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee at Theatre Calgary. The Betty Mitchell Awards, named for a pioneer of Calgary's theatrical community, Dr. Betty Mitchell, were started in 1998 to celebrate and honour outstanding achievement in Calgary's professional theatre  community. The BEE also has been nominated for Outstanding Production of a Musical, Outstanding Performance by an Actor, and Outstanding Musical Direction.

The Yukon Urban Dance Ensemble presented a 30-minute live/video event at THE VANCOUVER 2010 VICTORY CEREMONIES, choreographed by LISA STEVENS.

The showcase included performances by Michelle Fisher, Valerie Herdes, Jessica Hickman, Mellisa Kwok, Tellyse Parent, Jada Powell, Jordan Reti, George Rivard, Alex Robinson, Ben Robinson, Nick Robinson, Grace Simpson-Fowler, and Riley Simpson-Fowler.

The winners for 2009 will be announced at the gala ceremony on Monday, August 24, 2009 at the Max Bell Theatre (home to Theatre Calgary) in the EPCOR CENTRE for the Performing Arts.
